Multi-factor authentication is a method of confirming a user’s claimed identity. A computer user is granted only after successfully presenting two or more pieces of evidence to an authentication mechanism.
Within Credly, individual badge earners may enable Two Factor Authentication within their account.
For Admins on an account, it is required. Watch this video or read the instructions to enable for your account.
Before you begin, you’ll need to download and install an authentication app on your device. Here are a few options to get you started:
iPhone: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, 1Password, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator
Android: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, 1Password, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator
If you are working with a brand new account, you might see this until you establish 2FA.

You can enable Two Factor Authentication by logging into your Credly account and selecting Settings.
- You will then select the Privacy + Security tab on the left navigation bar.

Select the check-box related to Two Factor Authentication.
- You will then be prompted to use whatever app you've installed to scan a QR code. The Credly platform will automatically authenticate whether the application being used is compatible.
- Once Two Factor Authentication has been enabled, you will be prompted to input an authorization code.
- You will retrieve this code by accessing the authentication application they just downloaded and scanning the barcode.
