When authoring a badge template, you can elect to promote your program using our "Earn this Badge" feature. It is a toggle in the authoring/editing screen.
This allows you to have 2 areas for organic marketing! When you create a badge template, one of the first fields you’ll encounter is “Learn More”. This area asks for a URL from your own website that describes your organization or your credential program. Think of this as a useful link for general marketing. If you provide a URL, on the public view of the badge, a link is created below the badge description.
The next field is “Earn this badge.” You have the choice to toggle this on or off. By default, it is on. Again, this area asks for a URL from your own website that relates to registration. If someone could register to earn your badge through a course or exam, for example, where would they go? If you provide a URL, an “Earn this Badge” button will appear directly under the badge image on the public view of the badge.
If a viewer clicks on that Earn the Badge button, they are directed to your website. From there, they follow whatever instructions you have to complete the requirements for that badge.
The intent of the button is to give you a way to drive traffic to your site to increase enrollments.
The display for earners is as such. Notice the two highlighted areas.
