Template Level Expiration Dates

Updated 4/19/23

Perhaps you have a template that should expire at some point (good uses cases include technology products that are ever evolving or memberships that need to be paid). Under settings, you can select a preset default expiration.

If you enable this feature, you will no longer need to populate the expiration column in spreadsheets or via the API. (However, if you need to override the default expiration date, simply include that date upon issuance.)

Likewise, if you have badges with expiration dates, wouldn't you like the earners to recertify or somehow take action for a newer version of the credential? You can nudge those earners through automated notifications of their expirations. These are sent 60 days prior to the badge expiring.

You can enable both features under Settings.

  • First click into the template.
  • Next find the Settings tab at the top.
  • Drop down to the fields for template default expiration and notifications.

Note: This default gets applied on new badges/bulk replaces moving forward once configured. This expiration email is not customizable, nor is the 60 day timeframe.
