Can I issue a badge to an organization instead of an individual?

Updated 4/19/23

Yes, you can!
(Reach out to your CSM or email us at customersuccess@credly.com to enable this feature for you!)

First,

You will need to create a badge that is specific to organizations rather than users. To do this, select “Organization” when adding a new template.

The process of creating and publishing a badge will be the same for both organization and user badges.

Then,

Once published, you can issue the badge to an organization one at a time, or in bulk.

To issue in bulk:

  • In the Badges > Issue tab, download the .csv template
  • Add a new column to be positioned in column B and add the following header: badge_organization_name
  • Put the name of the organization in that column
  • Fill out the rest of the bulk issue .csv as you usually would. Note that you'll still need the name and email of an individual in that organization.

To issue one at a time:

  • Select the organization badge template you’d like to issue
  • Enter the organization’s information

Finally,

If the organization has a profile on the Credly platform, the badge will appear on their profile.

B2B Earner Experience

See this guide for more information about the organization badge earner's experience - it includes a video that you can share with anyone who will be earning a B2B badge from you.

If you are issuing badges to organizations, you'll want to let the recipient know what to expect. Here is a template message you might adapt and send before issuing those badges.
