The following Key Metrics are available to you as an administrator of your account:
Acceptance Rate: this is the percent of the badges issued in this period that were accepted by the earner.
Example: Let’s say this month, you issued 193 credentials and 146 were accepted. The Acceptance Rate would be 76% (=146/193).
Share Rate: this is the percentage of accepted badges that were shared at least once divided by the number of accepted badges. Note that an accepted badge can be shared more than once.
Example: Of those 146 badges that were accepted, there were 54 unique badges shared. This results in a Share Rate of 37% (=54/146).
View Rate: this is the number of views of shared badges divided by the total shares. Note that a shared badge can be viewed more than once.
Example: Those 54 shares resulted in 148 views. In this case, many shares have generated more than 1 view. The View Rate is 2.73 (=148/54).
Click Rate: this is the number of times a viewer or earner of a badge clicked on Additional Details, Earning Criteria, or Recommendations, divided by the total views.
Example: The 148 views of these credentials generated 27 clicks, so the Click Rate is .18 (=27/148).
Additionally, you'll see benchmarks and trend data and can filter on issued or activity.
How are the Benchmarks calculated?
In calculating Benchmarks, the goal is to include as much platform data as possible while reasonably representing performance. The following parameters were used:
To calculate these platform benchmarks, we included data included from:
- Badges issued in the past 12 months
- Real-time badges (Historical issuing was excluded)
- Organizations that were created at least 12 months ago (organizations launching during the past 12 months were excluded)
What is the difference between Issued and Activity Basis?
Issued Basis shows all badges issued within the defined time period and the activity related to those badges.
For example, if you are looking at the Issued Basis for badges issued in January, you’ll see all activity for those January badges, including Accepts, Shares, Views, and Clicks that happen in February, March, and beyond.
Activity Basis shows all activity that occurred within the defined time period, regardless of when badges were issued.
For example, if you are looking at the Activity Basis for May, you’ll see Accept, Share, View, and Click activity from badges issued in any previous time period, not just May.
Analytics: Options
The Credly platform provides two options for viewing analytics:
- Template Report - previously known as "Summary Report". It is a CSV summary of Acceptance, Issue, Share, View and Click data at the badge template level. A glossary for column headers on this report can be found, here.
- Credentials Report - previously known as "Detailed Report". It is a CSV report with individual badge information and earner information (for users with access to PII).
Dashboard Analytics
- Access by selecting “Analytics” from the left-side navigation panel.
- The dashboard provides a snapshot of the analytics at an organization level across predefined timeframes.
- All data shown refers to the badges created during the specified timeframe.
